Snow condition
There used to be more snow in the glacier ski area. The wind has exposed ridges and ridges again and many gullies can only be reached with stone contact.
Snow quality
It was warm and damp right up to the top. The snow was packed, compacted and heavy and partly covered. Around midday, it became sunny and even warmer.
Risks
Drifting snow with a massive rise in temperature brings with it a certain avalanche risk. Smaller slabs were triggered. There were many wet loose snow avalanches at lower altitudes. Nevertheless, there was a lot of off-piste skiing. In the end, we decided not to go and primarily "enjoyed" ourselves at the edge of the piste.
Overall impression
A day that you could almost do without. The snow was wind-packed and heavy, and then very wet further down. The possibilities in the terrain were limited due to the risk of avalanches and the low snow depth. After the snowfall in the middle of the week, we had somehow hoped for "more" winter, but we'll have to keep waiting for that. As we all know, hope dies last ;-)
The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.
Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
