Snow condition

The snow conditions are good right down to the valley. The higher rocky terrain is more problematic. There are areas that had no snow before the last snowfall and in the meantime the fresh snow from last weekend has slipped away or simply thawed.

you can still find powder on shady north faces protected from the sun. With a good choice of line, powder turns directly into firn.

Risks

The night-time temperatures and the steeling are sufficient for a stable cover. However, on east-facing slopes this softens during the morning and the snow underneath is often already wet. You definitely have to be early on the east side, especially if you are carrying your skis on your back, because you will break through more quickly.

Overall impression

4 von 5 Sterne

Two great days in the Pitztal. You can still find powder on the north side via short access routes from the lifts, otherwise firn, hardly any broken snow.
More west/northwest-facing gullies, on the other hand, are a bit more challenging. But even here you can still find powder in places. Where the sun comes in, it's sometimes hard, at 45° and more, it's exhausting, sometimes unrideable (think carefully about how steep you still want to/can ride in hard conditions), but still two brilliant days.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
