My first day in the Pitztal this season. There was already more snow up in the area in many a January, but it was enough to ski the classics. I skipped the descent from Mittagkogel. A few people made the pilgrimage up, but I like my skis... At the bottom, it already looked like contact with the enemy.

As usual in spring: very variable. In wind-protected areas up to a maximum of approx. 30 cm of powder on a soft base. There was a nice dusting, even in the afternoon, and in steep, blown-out sun gullies, of course, sticky fresh snow on top of the harsch. All in all, the best snow this winter for me.

Risks

Relatively relaxed. The steep sunny gullies were almost all cleared by the afternoon. Few signs of wind during the last snowfall.

Overall impression

For me, one of the best days this winter: Cloudy/foggy weather until midday and still good ground visibility, so the snow stayed good. Blue skies from midday. Few people, low temperatures, relaxed skiing in top snow.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
