Snow condition
Snow conditions are good. Many crevasses are covered in snow and stones all the way down into the Taschach valley. You only have to carry the last 200m. Otherwise you have to unbuckle 1-3 times but it is still very comfortable to ski down the Taschachferner. But it should get worse quickly if it stays warm
Snow quality
Soapy powder snow over 3200m in the north-facing and sheltered hollows. Some damp fresh snow underneath, about 5cm on a load-bearing surface. Almost like skiing on the piste. Very pleasant. Only from about 2500m very braking wet snow. Not for the faint of heart.
Risks
Wind intensity: No Wind (0 km/h)
Soaked snow surface according to the LOB from Wednesday...there is no more current snow. Due to the clouds, it only became noticeably softer over the course of the day... overall little avalanche activity seen. Taschachwand was skied. Some sluff came out at the bottom and looked quite wet in the lower area.
Overall impression
Last gondola day used to take another look at the Wildspitze. The crowds were enormous despite the unstable weather. Conditions were better than expected.
The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.
Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
