Petersen Nordwand
Snow condition

Overall impression
Snow condition
Below 2500m there is no snow in any exposure. From the hut you have to carry your skis up to the Taschachferner, the lower part of the glacier is already snowed out and bare, as are the lateral moraines, so you often have to take off your skis briefly if you want to cross them. Crevasses are already open in the lower part of the glacier above 2800m but there is still good snow there. All north faces are covered with snow, no bare ice.
Snow quality
Above 3100m loose powder 10cm below hard. We were able to ski down the north face of Perersen in great conditions.
Risks
Most of the large avalanches have already gone down and have large avalanche edges.
Overall impression
Superb end to the season, albeit with a long ascent but super powder snow on the north face and good to go once you are on the glacier.
