Fresh snow and wind
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
The ridge and ridges have blown off. Overall, there is even less snow at altitude than two weeks ago. There is only just enough snow under the trees and streams etc. are often still open.
Snow quality
Wind-pressed at higher altitudes, even great powder at lower altitudes, but with little foundation.
Risks
LLB 2, but feels higher. Drift snow packs can be triggered by a single skier. You can only move around in the terrain if you have a good knowledge of avalanches. Where the snow has fallen sheltered from the wind, the loose fresh snow quickly slides off the hard old snow. However, the amount of fresh snow is not too great. With further snowfall and increasing wind, the avalanche danger becomes even more critical.
Overall impression
Overcast in the morning, but still good visibility, then quickly clouding over and increasing wind at altitude. A longer snow shower around midday. In the forest, loose fresh snow on top of hard old snow. Overall, however, there is still not enough snow to really enjoy it. At high altitudes, it's windswept or blown off.
