Snow condition
The abundance of fresh snow that has fallen over the last few days makes the sharks even sneakier. The snow looks fantastic, but under the surface the danger lurks all the more turquoise. Just when you think you can let it run a little more, it happens... Some of the streams are still open and should not be underestimated, even if there is over a meter of snow to the right and left of them.
Snow quality
Further up you could see plumes of snow, but below 2800m there was plenty of loose powder snow. Where it was packed, it was still uncapped and beautiful to ride.
Risks
I have seen a sliding snow crack and a ground avalanche. I'm not quite sure whether the avalanche was blown up or spontaneous. Also because of the drift snow problem, tours and variants are good to plan.
Overall impression
A great day and very, very cold. Even on the south side, the sun had almost no noticeable effect on the snow. Many good lines were possible and, above all, there was very little going on. No queuing at the lift, no stress in the terrain. Ride after ride of great snow... There's only one thing you shouldn't do in the cold: trudge through a stream on skis (without skins!) and then want to continue. Both skis completely iced up. :-( Almost needed a pickaxe to get them back in shape. You only do that once. I then unbuckled them on the next lap ;-)
