Descent to valley (to 2100 m)

Apart from us, 99% of the tourers have climbed up without ropes, the glacier is well snowed in. Yesterday many tourers tried to descend via the pass between Piz Trovat and Piz Arlas. They all turned back because of the wet snow there. After the counter ascent, the descent via the ski slope was great. In the morning, on the descent from the Diavolezza cable car to the glacier, we had to walk twice - and skiing enjoyment definitely looks different. The descent over the Morteratsch glacier still involved about 1 hour of carrying, but the scenery is highly recommended.

Hard, pressed snow
Firn

Several people skied down the flank from Piz Palü Orientale to the ski depot. Didn't look like much fun on the hard snow, but definitely skiable. Nice firn further down. Very deep slush on sunny sides. Ideal stomping snow for walking from the ski depot 🙂

Personally an absolute highlight 🙂 Great company (PowderGuide meeting), highest summit of my "career" and then flew straight out with a paraglider 🙃
