It's hard to describe—I'm at a loss for words :D After the alarm went off at 4:30 a.m. and a cold night in the bed of a pickup truck, we headed up. As long as we could still ski, it was great—a bit tough at times, but no crampons were needed. Since we were the first ones there, we had to break trail through snow that was sometimes waist-deep—which was really exhausting at about 3,800, but totally worth it. Best powder in the couloir; in some spots, a bit of snow had slumped away, revealing a harder layer, and right in the “run” there was some frozen “avalanche debris” in places. But it was all skiable, or rather, it wasn’t particularly widespread. All in all, awesome
