Variations of snow cover

snow cover was pretty good considering we started pretty low. At higher altitudes the base is 1.5 meter, so no worries. Monday it snowed around 15 cm, but the new snow has been severely affected by the winds.

Risks

Wind intensity: No Wind (0 km/h)

Due to yesterday's high winds we could clearly see snow accumulation in certain areas: in correspondence of changes of slope angle, little couloirs below the ridge. The affected areas were recognisable and we avoided passing over them.

Better

We went for an easy tour because of yesterday's winds. The weather was great, the area super quiet and we had a great day. Because of the winds the snow was uneven, with wind-affected crust in certain spots and good powder between the trees in wind sheltered areas. The conditions have changed during the night as there probably is some fresh snow. This will improve the riding but hide the dangers due to this week's wind.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
