Stone Contact avoidable

Prali, in the heart of Piedmont, has received a lot of the snowfall. The base is very good in the valley at 1500 m, further up it is enough to cover most of the bushes and descents through the forest are usually possible. There wasn't much wind here and the snow cover is homogeneous.

Powder snow

I confirm chevchelios' CR from today. There is still a lot of powder to be found on slopes protected from the sun. In general, it's pretty cold and the snow stays fast.

Risks

No warning signs

Wind intensity: No Wind (0 km/h)

Little wind influence and hardly any diurnal warming. The first half of the meter of snow was also rather unstable, so the weak layer is deep.

Overall impression

Equal

We were on Monte Giulian from Prali and found great snow on the northern slopes. The hype is real, the conditions are brilliant, also because it stayed pleasantly cold. I'm already looking forward to tomorrow. PS: After the summer hibernation, you realize that ski touring is the best thing after all. The new skis are just as I wanted them to be, and I can still climb 1000 m. With Michele, Silvia, Mario, Gio and Dora. Monte Viso, bella!
