Avalanche warning level
moderate (2)
Exposition
Snow condition
Still just under 4 stars, considering the still early location in winter. at 1800 m 1 m, from 2200 also 2 or m. Highly variable due to wind and the sun
Snow quality
As usual, frozen hard in the morning and soft at noon. Now that it's colder, it stays hard all day on the north side. About 5 cm of fresh snow overnight with a lot of wind
Risks
Wind intensity: High (40 – 60 km/h)
Moderate, because hardly any fresh snow so far. The fallen temperatures are good for the snow cover stability.
Overall impression
Still very solid touring conditions in the Pyrenees. We were at Lac d'Aude and Pic del Pam from Les Angles. The predicted fresh snow is falling on an above-average base.
