Snow report Pyrenees Orientales, 02/15/2020
Finally, once again to the Pic de l'Homme Mort

Snow condition
Despite the high temperatures, there is still a surprising amount of snow above 2200 m. I would say a good average (1-2 m), ridge and ridges still well supplied with snow. Above that, it quickly becomes much less and below 1800 m there's really nothing left. All in all, rather poor for February...
Snow quality
More or less concrete snow in the morning, then slush from 10 - 12 o'clock depending on exposure and altitude. Only some north faces above 2200 m (Vallee du Galbe etc. don't really want to get soft...
Risks
In the meantime, everything that can come down is down. Except for the north sides. As the weather here has remained unchanged for a month and there is no change in sight for the time being, the danger pattern will not change for the time being. The risk of sunburn is currently much higher!
Overall impression
Thanks to the Mediterranean low in mid-January, it wasn't a trip for the garbage can, there was too much snow above 2000 m and the weather was simply too good. But it was also much better down here and a big load of fresh snow is slowly but surely needed here too, otherwise the season will soon be over. That's it for this year from my side from the beautiful little sister of the Alps in the sunny southwest, see you next year :)
