Snow report Pyrenees Orientales, 03/06/2014

Thanks to the recent snowfall, it's also very good further down. At 1500 m there is 50-100cm, at 2300 m easily 3m. Should be enough for a while... I'd say from 2200 m there's even more snow than 12/13.

Very different. On Monday and Tuesday the finest powder, unfortunately the ski area was almost completely closed due to avalanche danger and storms. Wednesday still good powder, but getting a bit heavier at the bottom. T-shirt weather since yesterday and slush on the slopes from 11am.

Risks

According to the LLB, only one more 3. Yesterday there was a lot of blasting, the wind has transported a lot of snow. The high should lead to a stabilization of the snow cover. During the course of the day, watch out for wet snow avalanches on south-facing slopes

What a great week. First continuous snowfall and the finest Powrenees powder, then early summer and great weather. Unfortunately, the French are on vacation, so there's a lot going on at the moment. And the clouds opened up unexpectedly late on Wednesday. One star off for that! But now we'll have to wait a bit until the snow cover has stabilized and off we go on our spring tours. PS: I apologize for the bad pictures, unfortunately Robert (aka the crusher) is not here this time.
