Snow report Pyrenees Orientales, 03/22/2014
Es schneit, jedoch lokal sehr unterschiedlich. Gegen Mittag absolut menschenleer!

Snow condition
A good 20 centimeters may have fallen in some areas, mainly in the N and NE of Les Angles. In the village rather 0-5cm, otherwise above 2000m up to 17h rather 10 cm.
Snow quality
Super light fresh snow with no wind, that's how we like it. Unfortunately the storm has already been announced for tomorrow, hopefully something will hold up in the forest. Still pretty heavy below 2000m
Risks
According to LLb a 2. I would assess the situation as more critical, especially above 2200m. The bond between the old snow (or ice crust) and the new snow is virtually zero. With the upcoming wind, large accumulations of drift snow are likely to form again.
Overall impression
It's winter again. Today was probably the lightest snow I've ever ridden in the Pyrenees. Unfortunately there's still a bit too little of it and below 2000m you can still feel the after-effects of yesterday's rain. I'm really looking forward to tomorrow ;) PS: just stumbled across the snow depth at Meteofrance in orly st barthelemy about 30km NW of Les Angles: 527cm at 2500m
