Snow report Pyrenees Orientales, 04/03/2014
Wow, what a difference to yesterday! Best day for a long time, almost 40 cm of fresh snow at 2400 m, in the village still 10 cm, which has melted again due to the high temperatures.

Snow condition
Skiable again up to 1600m thanks to the fresh snow. Generally less soaked snow cover from 2100, larger amounts of fresh snow and still very good snow conditions! Interesting is the approx. 5 cm thick layer of Sahara snow (photo), which can be seen everywhere.
Snow quality
Still quite fluffy above 2100m until 11am, then quickly becoming heavier with the sun at the top. Still very good for April and the Pyrenees.
Risks
Tricky due to the quite large amounts of fresh snow, high temperatures and partly strong winds last night. 4s according to Meteofrance...
Overall impression
Powder in April is not all that common in the Pyrenees. It felt like 50 people in the entire ski area. With sunshine and after the horrible day yesterday it was twice as nice! PS: nice pictures from 2 weeks ago can be found here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/jloos/13427132674/
