Snow report Pyrenees Orientales, 04/10/2014

Winter is slowly but surely coming to an end here. With daily temperatures of almost 25 degrees at 1700, it's no wonder. Nevertheless, from 2200m everything is still possible without any problems. First heat storm with hail at midday today

Snow condition

Snow on the south side up to over 2000m, on the north side still skiable up to about 1700-1800m; but really good snow only from 2200m upwards.

Snow quality

Still quite icy in the morning, then firn up and from midday onwards it was really slushy snow.

Risks

Very relaxing until 11 o'clock, but with the sun then avoid south-facing slopes at all costs. The danger of getting stuck there is even greater. With the rain, the snow cover is now completely soaked.

Overall impression

Well, almost all the pistes are still open and it still looks really wintry from 2000m upwards, but the sun is still beating down on the remaining snow. Summer is approaching.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
