Snow report Pyrenees Orientales, 04/18/2014
Over, out, closing time... This is my farewell from the Pyrenees and I wish everyone a happy Easter.
Snow condition

Snow condition
Above 2200m still pretty good, often more than 1-2m. Ridge and ridges generally free of snow. The touring season should last a few more weeks at the top, but below that there's almost nothing left (picture)...
Snow quality
Hard as a rock in the mornings, then getting more and more slushy during the day. Quite nice if you catch the right time...
Risks
Low. Firm crust in the morning, then getting heavier.
Overall impression
This CR marks the end of my somewhat extended Pyrenean vacation. I will always have memories of fantastic tours and skiing days, without the crowds and with a special flair. Nevertheless, the to-do list for future activities in the Cerdagne/Capcir high plateau is getting longer and longer! I hope I was able to give some of you a better understanding of this beautiful, often very rugged mountain range. The (somewhat longer) journey from Germany is worth it!
