In contrast to previous years, the following now seems to apply: The further south, the more snow. There is nothing at all in the usual snow holes of Formigueres and Puyvalador, up to 2400. Skiing is only possible thanks to artificial snow and only to a limited extent. However, the mountains on the border with Spain look pretty good and Puigmal (2900 m) is said to be the best ski touring option at the moment.

Snow quality

Artificial snow and wind-pressed old snow. Quite slushy at midday thanks to double-digit plus temperatures, frost at night.

Risks

No snow - no avalanches

Overall impression

Extremely little snow, skiing in the Capcir is only possible on artificial snow bands. It's impossible to think about sensible ski touring or off-piste skiing here without wearing skis. We'll check out the situation in Spain tomorrow, where there seems to be more snow.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
