Snow condition
Really a lot of snow, probably the snowiest area in the Alps at the moment. No wonder, as various records have been broken in the area. there is so much snow in the valley that most ski resorts in the Alps probably don't achieve such quantities on the mountain in an average winter. nevertheless, I only give it 4 stars, as there was a lot of wind above about 1700m and some of the ridges, crests and peaks were completely blown away.
Snow quality
Quite acceptable for the most part. I was riding in quite low areas, where there was 15-20 cm of lightly settled fresh snow on a crust of melted snow. Nice to ride, but not exactly amazing.
Risks
I actually had a fairly relaxed impression at lower altitudes, the snow is actually well settled and the fresh snow seems to be well bonded already.you still have to watch out for sliding snow, but probably again at higher temperatures (frosty -15°C this morning).certainly more critical at higher altitudes as the fresh snow is heavily blown away and the base is not yet well settled.sometimes you can see impressive older avalanches and fish mouths hundreds of meters long.
Overall impression
You can do it sometime. An extra star for the masses of snow. They are still digging out roads, lifts, pistes, etc. The problem at the moment is that nobody knows what to do with the snow.
