Auf der Suche nach dem letzten Powder im Sölktal
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
Although the spring-like temperatures of the last few days have been hard on the snow cover, it is still possible to ski directly from St. Nikolai. From about 1200 m the snow cover is closed. On the southern slopes, however, the slopes are often already closed due to the sliding snow problem. Slopes with a westerly exposure are also partially blown off in the areas near the crest due to the strong winds of the last few days.
Snow quality
The snow ranges from "hui to pfui". The snow is really good above 2000m in northern exposure. Below that, the snow unfortunately becomes increasingly wet and sometimes completely soaked.
Risks
The big problem is wet snow avalanches in the afternoon & sliding snow avalanches. Isolated drift snow packs are visible at northern elevations above 2200m.
Overall impression
Not the best conditions in the Sölktal, but for those who like lots of sunshine, the last few days have been mega! But you won't find any powder. Occasionally, some drift snow slopes are quite easy.
The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.
Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
Thank you for your contribution to the PowderGuide project!
