Good. The snowfalls in late spring have torn a lot out here. On the Hallstatt glacier between approx. 4 and 6m. Park is set up and looks nice, even for non-pros. Relatively much snow on the normal route up the Dachstein. Probably also an unusual amount of snow on the steep descents.

Yesterday (17.5.) great firn conditions in the morning and still ok to ski in the afternoon. Today (18.5.) it didn't freeze overnight, snow soggy and wet from the morning. Yesterday 4 stars, today 1.5...

Risks

Slides from the steep rock faces after exposure to the sun. Nothing else observed. Normal route Dachstein summit, via ferrata variations, etc. critical in terms of wet snow problems and daytime ascent.

Nice for escaping the heat in the valley and better than the office.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
