There's nothing to gloss over. The initial situation was also very bad on the Tauplitz (approx. 1700m), even if it wasn't completely bare and something like a "base" could be found in the shady forest on Sunday. The snowfall started yesterday at about 16h00 and became heavier towards the evening. This morning about 10 cm of fresh snow, now at about 23h00 already about 30 cm of fresh snow in total (on very irregular old snow cover or bare meadows/stones/rocks)

Snow quality

3 von 5 Sterne

Powdery snow, wind-affected by consistently strong winds during the snowfall

Risks

No special signs. Due to fog & snowstorm on the alpine plateau also no visual etc. information possible. Information possible. Drift snow will certainly be an issue on steep, blown-in slopes

We only went with snowshoes. Great fun! Nevertheless, a beautiful and necessary winter experience. Snowshoes alone are certainly THE new trend in the powder scene due to the climate (at least in early winter).

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
