Alpinistisches Touren am Dachstein
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
The snow conditions are still pretty poor. The glacier ice is still partially open. On the ascents to the Hoher Dachstein and to the Steinerscharte from the Gosau Glacier, the wire ropes from the via ferrata/alpine climb are still very accessible for the most part. Below 2000 m it becomes very thin on the north side.
Snow quality
We encountered settled powder and hard snow today. Unfortunately, the wind has left its mark. You can still find some powder in shady and wind-protected areas.
Risks
The main dangers are still crevasses, rocks and the risk of falling.
Overall impression
We were completely alone at the summit of the High Dachstein, and there were no people on the descent on the Gosau Glacier, an alpinistic undertaking and good weather, resulting in three stars.

Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.
Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
