Snow report Saalbach / Fieberbrunn, 01/02/2020
Touring to Pow
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
From PP 850m enough snow on the forest road for a gentle descent. In the shady and cold trench, the north-facing snow has held on, but the south and east-facing slopes are now covered in loose patches.
Snow quality
Still good pow on the shady north/north-east slope. Other exposures starting to get wet, but no capping today. Wind has not been so extreme here, no wind crusts or cornices on the ridge.
Risks
Smaller wet snow slides on steep sunny spots. Some sliding snow mouths in the steep parts, see photo 5.
Overall impression
Super weather and still found some Pow, but was to be earned with longer Talhatscher. The tour exceeded my expectations, in stars: 3 plus
