Snow condition
There has been a base since the last big snowfall a week ago. However, the ridge and exposed areas are still free of snow due to the wind. You can no longer get through to the ground. You can also ski well in the forest. Around 30 cm has accumulated in the last few days. Another 15 cm on top during the course of the day.
Snow quality
There is 1a drift snow in almost all areas. Therefore, of course, not super easy. Snow gives a bit of rebound, but was still great to ski. Very fluffy was very rare today, therefore only 3 stars.
Risks
As already mentioned 1a drift snow. We were naturally on the move defensively. On steep terrain transitions, you could already see the high susceptibility to disturbance very clearly. Today, another 15cm came together over the course of the day. However, all the fresh snow from the current alert has been spread over the last few days. The values from the Hochhörndl snow station were in the lower range. Otherwise it is always very representative of the area.
Overall impression
Beautiful storm day! It flaked very decently all day. The drifts were considerable, watch out for tomorrow! Hochhörndl 4er Sessel was closed today. Unless there's a lot more overnight and the tracks from today are covered up, there won't be too much left tomorrow with little effort.
