Snow condition

In the southern exposures, the snow is already starting to get scarce, and even on the ascent you soon have to unbuckle. From around 1600m it is much better and most of it is still well snow-covered.

Snow quality

2 von 5 Sterne

OK, but nothing more, which was also due to the sometimes less than ideal choice of route. A little firn in places, but often rock-hard with absolutely minimal powder cover.

Risks

Very stable conditions. Also stable on the sunny side in the afternoon. It was quite cold at night and not as warm during the day as a few days before.

Overall impression

3 von 5 Sterne

Overall, the snow was less bad than we had feared and the amount was just enough to get through without unbuckling. So it was a good day and we managed to bag a few peaks. There were still (too) many other tourers on the first ascent, but it became much more lonely on the rest of the way.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
