Snow report Saalbach / Fieberbrunn, 03/09/2016
First look at the variants around the connection between Fieberbrunn and Saalbach
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
There is snow in the valley in Fieberbrunn and in all the valleys of the ski circuit to Saalbach. On the south side, the snow cover in the valley is already thinning. On the north side, the snow cover is sufficient to ski down into the valley everywhere. There is also enough snow on the forest paths in the uninhabited valleys to get back to the lifts. On the north side, there is still a good 20-30 cm of fresh snow left over from last week's snowfall.
Snow quality
Only 2 stars because the sun and the wind have taken their toll. However, the snow was still really good in places (on the high north side). Nowhere unaffected but still cold and very good to ski.
Risks
According to LLB 2-3: Wind signs are very clearly visible. The departing snow slabs are often small-scale. Nevertheless, you should stay in the safer areas. The first ground avalanches have already been seen on the south side.
Overall impression
Surprising that there is still good snow 3 days after the snowfall. Even in the not too high connection between Fieberbrunn and Salzburg there is still good snow. Hence the 3 stars. In the valley, spring comes through and the first slush turns are made.
