Snow report Saalbach / Fieberbrunn, 03/24/2014
Apology Accepted - The last time Pow in Fieberbrunn
Snow condition

Overall impression
Snow condition
There was enough fresh snow on the north side above 1500 to completely cover the previously rather icy base and only rarely penetrate it. Ridges and other wind-influenced areas offered rather unsightly, changing conditions, but below the tree line at the latest it was heavenly, even pow.
Snow quality
Only to be outdone by the stuff seen exclusively in videos from Japan and the rockies this season - could have been a tad lighter/looser (criticism on a very high level)
Risks
(LLB: 2, 3 over 1800) Strangely enough, the snow cover was quite stable, I was still worried in the morning that the connection to the fresh snow would be poor. But even very steep slopes were easy to ski on windless slopes.
Overall impression
It almost smells as if someone "up there" wanted to apologize for a rather miserable winter on the northern edge of the Alps. He/she managed it quite well... 7 hours of permanent grinning in good weather (alternating between sun and clouds), little competition (max. 100 people in the area, about a quarter of them off the beaten track) and lots of first lines made today the best day of the season (or at least top 3). So if you have time: get to the mountains quickly before the cool white becomes brown mud!
