Glatte Einsminus - bester Tag der Saison

Snow condition
The region hasn't had this much snow all winter! 1.20m at the measuring station is a pretty good average. Skiing down into the valley is possible again - except in the densest forest
Snow quality
The fifth star is only missing because sunny slopes become difficult from late morning onwards, then even flat northern exposures in the afternoon. Almost perfect powder on the shaded side, AT LEAST 30cm deep everywhere (except for a few blown-off ridges); not in the forest, slightly bound above it
Risks
People tend to underestimate the 3 above 1800m because there was a 2 below. The fresh snow fell at the top with less wind than at the end of last week, but today the amount (and warming) simply made steeper slopes dangerous. We were able to kick off clods on a NNE slope (1700m, ~35°max), which would probably have to be considered a small board; the next off-piste skiers then took something next to it, etc.. Thank goodness all freeriders refrained from extremely steep variants today - in contrast to Thursday and Friday.
Overall impression
Once a season you almost have to give it 5 stars; today it was definitely justified. Tomorrow, with a bit of hiking in Fieberbrunn, I'm sure another 4-star day is possible.
