Snow report Saalbach / Fieberbrunn, 12/31/2013
Zum Gas geben i

Snow condition
We have been very spoiled with snow in recent years. Unfortunately, it is extremely bad at the moment. There is hardly any snow in the backcountry. On average, we have a snow base of 30 cm. Things look a little better on the higher north-facing slopes.
Snow quality
The further you go, the better the snow gets. We found the finest powder in the Sonnspitze region (NE). Otherwise, the snow quality looks rather poor.
Risks
Due to the low height of the snow cover, the avalanche situation is very favorable. However, care must be taken in wind-exposed ridge areas. Small slides can also be triggered by low additional loads, as the connection within the snowpack is very susceptible to disruption due to the weather in recent weeks.
Overall impression
On Sunday, it should snow a little again. As the weather is once again coming from the south, not much fresh snow is expected. We have to keep praying that we finally get a good portion of snow. Phil from the Freeridebase.at
