There's still 20cm at 1200. Above that, it's massively more. The south wind is visibly pushing mighty snow clouds in front of the Simplon. Hopefully it will make it a little further into the main ridge.

It's soft under the lid. You can hardly get to it. The slope has been concreted by the wind, the forest has been baked together by the hurricane and the high temperatures. Powder is only left where the wind blows it.

Risks

Just as I was thinking about a few off-road adventures, a pub in front of me in the edge of the forest released two small but very fast boards. They weren't enough to spill, but they were enough to break my legs and crash into a tree.... It's time to call it a day, there are still plenty of other great things to do in Valais.

You get blown out very quickly. The foehn was blowing very strongly and quickly became cold. As long as you can stand it outside, the sky pictures of clouds and snow plumes are very impressive. But after the many soft days, we had to get our feet used to the hard blows again.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
