Bluebird after snow and storm
Snow condition

Snow condition
Nothing to complain about! There is snow from 1200 and already in the valley at Saas Grund. The valley run is open, no stones, not even ice.
Snow quality
In total, there is 30cm of fresh snow, more in places due to drifts. In the Surprise it has blown in quite a bit at the top and the base can change from powder to puffy snow within one turn. At the bottom, the small crevasses are closed and you can let off steam wonderfully in between, as the west wind has accumulated snow here rather than carrying it away. Kiwi is already possible. White pearl is very blown out.
Risks
Officially a 2 despite fresh snow, but not to be underestimated at high altitudes. Otherwise nothing observed. Drift snow fields are clearly visible.
Overall impression
The amount of snow we already have here at this time of year impresses me every time! Variants such as Surprise and Kiwi are possible where locals thought two months ago that they wouldn't be able to ski at all - due to the gaping crevasses. These are actually closed. There is good snow in the Kamel, a popular ascent track, but unfortunately it is wind-blown, so it is probably not yet worth making long trips out of the ski area. Overall, you run a greater risk of picking up a stone below 2500 than before the wind - unfortunately. Nevertheless, it was a great Bluebird Chilbi!
