Different: Despite the heavy snowfall of the last few days, the lower altitudes are still not good. You can start from the valley on suitable, open ground, but in the forest it only becomes skiable from 1200-1300m. Above that, however, it is now really good, especially in high, sparse larch forests.

From about 1400m upwards it gets really bombastic: cold, light blowerpow. Some of it is already heavily tracked, we were still able to find a nice virgin line at the top, below which the crusty layer of old snow comes through more and more as the altitude drops.

Risks

The situation report speaks for itself. Personally, I wouldn't have seen a triple on our more or less dense forest tour. Absolutely untracked, cold powder, which in our area was apparently also not very transported, hardly any signs of wind. In the lower areas, it was a mixture of fresh snow, chopped up snow and old snow crust, but it's better to be relatively defensive overall.

Really fine due to the upper larch forest.
You can finally step on the gas without having to worry too much about unpleasant encounters.
Unfortunately, the few things you can do in a reasonably relaxed manner are heavily tracked. Of course, this also applies to one of the Berchtesgaden classic tours, which was extremely busy today.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
