2. Tag im Nordstau: Es wird so langsam...

Snow condition
The 2nd day of the north jam delivered quite well once again: Another 20 - 30cm was added. (At low and medium altitudes). You can ski all the way down to the valley if the ground is favorable, and there has already been some skiing in the forest, I took a look and then just skied around the edge of the forest. The bottomless powder doesn't protect you from root and trunk contact. But now the base is there. Oh yes, it's still snowing...
Snow quality
Really good. After some rather grayish snow came down yesterday evening, today it was really thick flakes. A lot of the snow was blown up quite quickly, but the untouched stuff is very fine. (If the base is right). You can't feel the old snow.
Risks
The situation report and the wind speeds from yesterday speak for themselves and I was only between 900 and 1400m in and around the forest today. With the exception of the summit, unlike yesterday, there were no drifts to be seen. But it's safe to assume that it's really tricky in open terrain and higher up, and that roots and stones definitely still play a role in the forest and further down. Watch out is the order of the day!
Overall impression
Since mid-November, the real winter feeling has returned, even if conditions are certainly still limited. But the foundations have now been laid in the forest and things are looking pretty good for the weekend, unfortunately there's a lot going on wherever it's good, but that was to be expected...
