Snow condition
Strong tendency downwards towards a *. We had to carry for the first time in the season today. (about 150m, the starting point was about 800m W-N). Even in favorable expos you should start above 1000 m. In the high altitudes very different: partly good snow conditions next to completely empty areas.
Snow quality
Overall quite ok. Very hard at the bottom, icy-harsh. From about 1300m, a thin layer of fresh snow that grows to about 10cm at the top. Some of the upper layers were softer, with a damp layer underneath. But you have to be very careful, the conditions change on a very small scale and there is often hard or slabby snow.
Risks
Below 1200m here this morning, very compact old snow cover. Up to our final point at about 1800m, I would also rate it as only moderate, the fresh snow is very well connected with the moist snow layer or it is also very blown and compact. The LLB speaks a different language, especially with the rain this afternoon the situation will certainly change again.
Overall impression
Nice because there was not much going on and there was still some good snow.
But overall a strenuous descent because the snow quality was constantly changing. Still quite hard at the bottom in the mornings and it's stupid to carry things
