Snow condition
I think it's the best it's been in the BGL for a long time. It's definitely been a few years. You can actually go anywhere in the valley, even in the lower forest it's great. You can play nicely in the middle forest areas and the good & somewhat damp, compact base means you can hardly get through even when hopping around.
Snow quality
Amazingly good. Above about 1000-1100m the fresh snow (today about 10-15cm) is powdery or only slightly moist, below that it gets wetter, the snow of the last few days has settled a lot and forms a super base, which is soft but not groundless.
Risks
All in all, you have to be on your guard, I would avoid higher things outside of the forest completely, in the forest it looks much more moderate, the fresh snow is well set and connected. Sluffing is hardly an issue as the fresh snow is a little heavier, but the wet fresh snow at lower altitudes creates a new hazard in the form of broken trees and branches.
Overall impression
Mega good day with few people and lots of untracked snow. Even near the slopes or on them there was something to be had today, because some areas were fortunately not groomed (or only yesterday or so).
It was bad visibility and a bit too warm though.
Very nice: The BGL now has a decent base! If a tropical hurricane doesn't pass by soon, then you should be able to do something with it for a while at lower altitudes too. And it also looks pretty good for the near future.
