Snowmargeddon
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
Tendency towards five. But I'm not awarding it just yet, because there's more to come on the Woe. Theoretically, everything in the basin would be rideable.
Snow quality
Deep, fluffy powder. Immense sinking depths. Possibly wind-treated at higher altitudes, but I wasn't there.
Risks
Highly critical overall, as demonstrated by the huge dust avalanche that occurred in the Klausbach valley. There is danger from sluff, but it is not super light. Sinking and getting stuck is increasingly becoming an issue. Snow breakage is a very relevant factor, especially at lower altitudes where the trees are not so well adapted to large amounts of snow.
Overall impression
Live from the heart of the Snowmargeddon...
For personal reasons it's not enough for five stars: the choice of terrain (a bit too flat), the skis (Gunsmoke 114mm - too narrow) and the resulting sinking depth... D
But still very cool. But you have to build up a lot of speed to stay on top. :D
Other than that: shoveling off roofs, digging cars free and getting ready for the next wave.
