Snow report Salzburger Land North, 01/15/2019
Deep forest powder, but mild and windy

Snow condition
4.5 stars Still exceptionally good situation. From yesterday to today another 30cm.
Snow quality
Good, if no longer top notch. Due to the mild air, the fresh snow is a little more compact and also slower, but still great to ride. You should definitely stay in the sheltered forest, in higher and exposed corners you immediately feel the wind and below 900m you sometimes feel the rain crust (on which, however, the said 30 cm lie - so bearable ;) ).
Risks
I find it more relaxed in the windless forest. The fresh snow is more settled than on the Woe and is still homogeneous, soft and well connected to the older layers. At the top, it's probably extremely critical with the wind conditions of the last 2 days! The risk of snow breakage has decreased significantly.
Overall impression
Very good day in the area. Generally hardly any people, but there really wasn't anyone in the terrain. Nice snow, one slope that wasn't groomed also had nice powder. Apart from that, nice hopping around in the forest. Flat passages have to be ridden out first, which is exhausting at first.
I would probably have given it 5 stars on a tour.
