Snow report Salzburger Land North, 01/23/2016
Short afternoon tour in the valley basin: Good snow, but of course still not enough.

Snow condition
Due to the settling, forest descents are now also possible in the middle layers, but there's still not much there. Yesterday there was just under 10 cm in the upper layers. On average, there is about half a meter at 1500m.
Snow quality
Surprisingly good! On the north side there is good powder at the bottom and fluffy fresh snow on top. Very good to ski, unfortunately quite rutted on the chosen route. Still worth 4 stars overall. Below 1200m partly rain crust. South sides are partly gummy.
Risks
Today I only stayed below the tree line; there were neither old snow problems nor freshly transported drift snow to be seen. Overall very relaxed here in the dense forest, above the tree line or on wind-exposed slopes it certainly looks different.
Overall impression
Good snow, visibility also ok, a bit too busy for my taste. Nevertheless, good powder runs are still possible. Unfortunately, the snow in the middle areas will not survive the next week in the same quality, in the lower areas (already not good) I fear worse.
