Snow condition
First class. You can actually ride everything that is possible, except for very steep, structured south-facing slopes at lower altitudes.
Snow quality
Very good, which amazed me. Set powder throughout. The first 20cm are nice and powdery, below that very compact but soft. Still good even in the lower, western parts of the descent. A few tracks were already there, of course, but there was still enough space to play, and below approx. 800-900m there was a noticeable cap of harsh snow with only a few centimetres of dust on it.
Risks
Pretty relaxed, I would say. The powder snow has settled a lot and is compact and homogeneous in most exposures. The steep sunny sides are more critical, even if it's cold at the moment: but there's still a pile in there. There were no signs of wind on my tour, which may be different further up. Snow breakage is becoming more of an issue again due to the cold, you can see some fresh crown breaks. There is also still a lot on the trees.
Overall impression
Great weather, great snow (at the top) and a great descent. What more could you want.
The downside was the long, unpleasant walk along a flat, cleared road and the fact that I missed the bus...
