Snow report Salzburger Land North, 01/28/2016
Very bitter at the lower levels...
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
Terrible. At least below 2000m. What went reasonably well 5 days ago is now unrideable. Even on the north side there's nothing left below 1600-1700m. It has snowed a little at higher altitudes.
Snow quality
What was there was actually quite good to ride: soft, not too slow sulz.
Risks
This is no longer necessary in the middle altitudes. Beyond that, probably a few meters of sliding/wet snow problems, especially on steep grassy slopes. The exposure doesn't matter, I haven't been to the high altitudes.
Overall impression
It was good for riding, but there was hardly anything on the tour. The high altitudes look ok in terms of snow, but you have to carry a lot of it. I'd say it was doomsday at the lower altitudes. Well, let's hope for a turnaround on Sun/Mi, let's see.
