Today was a good day...

Snow condition
In some areas it's better than last week (especially in the open terrain), in the lower or denser forest rather worse. Light larch forest is also quite ok. In general, however, you still have to be pretty careful in the forest, especially if you go in somewhere at speed, as there are still a few sharks lurking aboutRight riding is possible from about 1300-1400m, provided the ground is rather friendly. Between 1700 and 1500 you can really step on the gas in alpine terrain. You can get down into the valley if necessary, but it's only good on pistes.
Snow quality
Ok, so a very close 4 stars - at least for most of the areas I was out on today. The fresh snow is fine and gritty and skis really well. It doesn't look really deep because the dump from the first two days seems to have settled quite a bit. The advantage is also that, unlike last week, you can no longer feel the hard old snow cover. In a few areas there is a bit of ice on the surface, but mostly you can see it quite well.
Risks
The situation reports were quite clear, albeit more for the higher altitudes. At the medium altitude level where I was traveling, it was very uncritical. I would have expected more drift snow and poorer binding. That wasn't really an issue anywhere in the altitude level I visited today. The fresh snow was free of tension and seemed a bit settled overall.
Overall impression
It was a really good morning, even if there is generally not enough snow.
I had a lot of fun and some first lines. And it felt like the first time in a long time that you could really let it run (unfortunately not everywhere, of course).
All in all, it was quite busy, and luckily not all the lifts were open yesterday.
Hopefully it won't be too warm in the next few days...
