Snow condition

Really sad. It's like April, except that there's much less snow at higher altitudes. In the Berchtesgaden basin, you can't ski anywhere down into the valley without interruption due to the low starting altitudes. Even at 1200m on the shaded side I had patches of snow today. From 1500m on the north side it's ok.

Snow quality

Megafunky! Harsh snow, broken snow, slush, rotten snow and ice dominate the terrain. Real training snow, which is quite challenging. The softer snow further down is great fun.

Moderate. There are a few old wet snow slides lying around, but only small ones - logical, as there isn't much that can slide, and there is no drift snow below 2000m.

Overall impression

On the one hand, it was nice because I was at the secret spot again and it's just great terrain.
Unfortunately, everything was still quite hard on the north side in the exciting area at midday.

But overall it was pretty dramatic. Winter is over here before it's even started. It won't be any more at lower altitudes either. Maybe it'll be something at higher altitudes, but it'll take a lot and there will be long stretches to carry out this year.
