Snow condition

Very bitter. Downhill runs are no longer possible unless you ski down the artificial snow slopes. But who wants to do that? It's also getting critical in the middle altitudes. Below approx. 1500m, nothing works in the forest anymore, even in the otherwise typical snow holes you can choose between mountain pine slalom and sharks... Carrying is now necessary everywhere. 5 cm have been added at high altitudes.

Snow quality

3 von 5 Sterne

Very variable. In the lower elevations, slow slush and occasionally a brittle crust. From around 1500-1600m, the snow then becomes drier, sometimes wind-pressed, but sometimes also nice and soft and easy to ski. However, the snow layers often change abruptly.

Risks

No problem up to 1600 m because there simply wasn't enough snow, and in the higher elevations there was a very strong foehn wind this afternoon too, which resulted in drifts. All in all, however, it was limited. The old snow cover is relatively compact and settled. Due to the inhomogeneous snow conditions, there is also an additional reduction in possible slab formation. There are a few smaller slides on the south side, but there is really very little left.

Overall impression

2 von 5 Sterne

Not much going on, some quite reasonable snow and an eagle flying a garland at the summit. A nice day, if it weren't for the frustration of looking at the surrounding mountains. As the north-east typically only gets a consolation in the next few days, it doesn't get any better. But well, that's the way it is...

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
