Snow condition
You can slide down into the valley on forest roads or similar, but there is really very little snow. 1500m-1800m is best, i.e. in wind-protected larch forests, gullies and hollows. At higher altitudes it's also very bad, only narrow deep cirques and gullies are ok.
Snow quality
Pretty good! If it's not already tracked. In the wind-protected larch forest 30-40 cm of settled powder, very nice to ski. Above that there is also sometimes powder, but the wind often plays a role. In a nutshell: shaded and wind-sheltered areas are quite good, but I would avoid sunny sides. (We were only there very briefly - broken snow).
Risks
Quite uncritical, the 1 was quite suitable for our tour today. Very settled and well connected, in the high areas you could see some quite large break-off edges, probably a few days old, on the south side, very steep and on smooth ground I could imagine that something could still come off, if available - the sun already has a lot of power.
Overall impression
Today there were some very nice powder passages.
To find untracked terrain, however, you either have to go a long way or go on lesser-known tours. This weekend, the entire Berchtesgaden Alps were plowed up.
We paid for this with a long forest trail passage and very little snow in the steep lower forest aisle, but above that it was great.
Hopping around is only possible to a limited extent, there's not much on the rocks and you don't feel very safe when landing either.
