Snow condition
Abnormal amounts of snow in our beloved living room. Intensive track work today with fresh snowfall of around 50 cm +. Lines are now being skied where we hadn't really thought about whether they could be skied. Now they are being driven. Bushes, shrubs and mountain pines, everything is covered in deep snow. If you have to find the ascent track in the area you know best, that says everything about the snow conditions. It doesn't get any better than this! Today we were once again only on the north side up to below the tree line. It continued to snow constantly until the afternoon.
Snow quality
There was no penetration of a harder layer, and in the sheltered forest there was hardly any wind influence, so you could enjoy the super fluffy fresh snow with every turn. Faceshots were taken in flaterate mode.
Risks
Although this corner is quite sheltered from the wind, today there were quite a lot of snow packs near and far from the crest, which we were able to avoid on the ascent. We were therefore warned and stayed in the wind-protected area on the descents. The connection to the old snow was good there. There was also hardly any sluff today. You should definitely keep your eyes on the drift snow.
Overall impression
What a day, brilliant snow conditions, great snow quality and nice and quiet in the woods. What more could a skier's heart want?
