Although a few things have changed for the worse in the last few days, I would still give it 4 stars because you can still get really good snow all the way down. There's a big snow reserve in the middle areas and it's starting to snow out heavily on the steep, low and south-facing slopes.

I was expecting the worst when I went up: very heavy studding of the heavy wet snow and apparently no difference in the forest and on open areas, but fortunately a stark difference on the descent: on open areas a kind of compact, soft and great fast to ride wet snow, everywhere where there are trees there is a terrible stickiness and you are slowed down extremely abruptly...

Risks

Today, I would agree with the Salzburg LLB, which (in 99% of cases) has a sharper rating and sees a 2 in all areas. The Bavarian one sees a 1 in the lower areas. The sliding snow problem is massive (see picture) and you should also be careful in the steep forest, but on the other hand the snow cover is quite compact and in moderate terrain you won't get any sliding.

Overall impression

4 von 5 Sterne

In the end, a short but nice lunch break tour: I've always wanted to ride the three forest tracks and they can be perfectly linked together (with a few meters of pushing). As the forest part of the descent with the sticky snow was limited to just these few meters of pushing, I only got the fine stuff on the descent. It's also a nice jumping and play area and the compact but soft snow is quite gentle on the joints when it comes to landings.
But the tracks through the sticky snow and heat are strenuous...

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
