Snow condition

The snow conditions in the Steinplatte area between Waidring and Seegatterl are quite good. There is a clean base and in places there are patches of loose snow on the sunny slopes.

Snow quality

1 von 5 Sterne

As in the rest of the eastern Alps, the snow quality is very modest at lower altitudes. Today we had wind-pressed old snow on the northern slopes combined with a firn layer on sunny slopes and lower altitudes, which was reasonably good to ski on.

Risks

Due to the delicate avalanche situation, we chose a ski tour in a ski area and combined the whole thing with climbing as a delicacy.danger comes from heavy wet snow. I can't add much more about the current avalanche situation to the situation report, as we mostly stayed in the secured piste area.

Overall impression

3 von 5 Sterne

Three stars because the weather made the tour a fantastic day with sunburn on the face. Otherwise for snow and conditions a rather meagre one star.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!

Thank you for your contribution to the PowderGuide project!
