Snow condition
Well, yes. There are areas that are better than before, but also some that are even worse than before. Areas exposed to the wind, ridges and ridges close to the crest, etc. are often virtually swept clean. Even some steep forest areas can only be skied with damage, with an average of around 2 x 10-15 cm added, but it is very inhomogeneously distributed and usually feels less. A miserable layer of fresh snow in the valley. The good thing: In a narrow area more at the middle foot of the slope, approx. between 1500 and 1600m, there were very heavily blown-in hollows and depressions. Some areas at high altitudes look better from a distance than before.
Snow quality
The drift snow is actually quite good, perhaps a little blunt. However, there are only very limited areas where you can shred a bit. There is always rock-hard, pressed ice and simply the ground lurking around, and unfortunately a lot of it was already rutted.
Risks
At higher altitudes, the LLB issued a 3 today. I wasn't in the higher elevations and certainly wouldn't have gone there today, the hurricane has already caused quite a lot of displacement. Various expos are affected, but the majority are already N/NW. In the middle altitudes where I was traveling (only inbound, up to 1700m) and below, it was quite stable, settled and low-stress.
Overall impression
Very close and only 3* because of the last half hour.
At the beginning I was a bit turned off: very flat light, lots of areas with little snow, loads of sharks and still a lot of track.
But then I found two small spots with satisfactory quality and quantity and then the sun came out and I was able to ride with a bit more pressure.
All in all, a larger area or a lonelier, safer tour would probably have been the best choice.
But it was enough for a few nice turns.
Tomorrow in wind-calmed areas will certainly be good too, it stayed cold all day.
